Pilates/Rehabilitation
Once the
optimal function of your spine and joints has been restored through
chiropractic care you will probably feel a lot better and will be
able to continue looking after yourself with home exercises and
occasional check ups.
If your problem
tends to recur, has been present for a long time, or you just want
to be in tip top condition, you may benefit from an intensive
supervised Pilates rehabilitation programme.
After your
assessment your chiropractor and Pilates instructor will
discuss your individual needs so that they can be focussed on during
the programme. The main elements of the programme are as follows
-
Postural
work
-
Re-training your nervous system to hold your body in the
right posture
-
Core
Stability
-
Learning to engage and develop the muscles that support and
protect your spine.
-
Stretching
and flexibility
-
Strengthening
-
Associated muscles in shoulders, hip arms and legs
The Pilates
rehabilitation programme will teach you new healthier ways to move
your body. So that
even those with the most intractable back/neck pain, may be pain
free.
As well as the
occasional top up chiropractic treatment you may want to carry on
exercising in a group because it makes you feel good. You will be
able to continue in a larger group with the same teacher if you
wish. |
