Treatment


Over the course of treatment, a therapeutic relationship will develop between you and your chiropractor, and the plan may be fine tuned and reviewed. It will generally consist of a combination of the following:

  • Gentle adjustments to restore movement to spinal joints. This will
    • improve your posture,
    • Relieve pain and muscle spasm
    • Improve the function of your nervous system, affecting the whole of your body.
  • Massage to
    • Break down scar tissue
    • Relax tense muscles
    • Take the strain from your spine
  • Stretching to
    • Release shortened muscles
  • Craniosacral therapy To restore balance to your nervous system

Chiropractic is the art and science practiced by chiropractors. In many ways chiropractic is similar to physiotherapy and osteopathy as practiced by physiotherapists and osteopaths. Although there is much debate about the difference between Chiropractors and Osteopaths, in reality their approaches have much in common. Physiotherapists who manipulate are also similar to Chiropractors and Osteopaths.
